About
GASP! You found the ABOUT page! Now if only I can find the right words to tell you all about Boomers Tech Tips.
Actually, I just had this brilliant idea a few days ago that I should add yet another blog to my to do list. So I did. Why? Because I’ve encountered a lot of people OFFLINE that don’t know much about getting ONLINE and what to do once they do. Sooooooooo, I thought it would be nice to have a blog to which I can direct these wonderful people so they can read in simple, laymans terms just WHAT to do once they’re online.
Now, you’re probably wondering why I titled this one Boomers Tech Tips. Easy answer. Most of the people I encounter who haven’t yet learned much about being online or other technology are Baby Boomers. That’s because I am a Baby Boomer myself and much of the time that’s who I hang out with other than family. Not because Boomers aren’t capable of becoming tech savvy so get that out of your mind right away. K? K.
I’ll never forget my first computer. Before getting my own I had always been afraid to click on anything for fear I would blow up, crash, or disintegrate something crucial to the well-being of humankind. Once I got my own computer it was click, click, click for days…weeks…months just checkin’ to see what each click would do. And that’s how I learned…fearlessly.
Btw, I’m happy to report nothing blew up, crashed, or disintegrated. Humankind is still well and my efforts did NOT take down Baby Boomer Al Gore’s invention, the Internet (just joshin’ ya, Al!
No harm meant. I just thought that might help the SEO considering the season. Thx for the boost! ‘preshatecha!).
Now, if you’re afraid to click away just stick around or click on that orange thing up there that says “Subscribe” and add it to your very own iGoogle page or Google Reader. You’ll be better able to follow along without losing your place when I give you some tips and hints about what will happen when you click.
Promise I’ll say it the way you can understand it. If there isn’t a simple to understand term, I’ll do my best to explain it without going off on a technical tangent that will lead you into an electronic forest where you can’t see the forest for the trees.
Speaking of seeing, Boomers, if you’re having a hard time reading the text on this blog let me know. You can leave a comment down below and I’ll get the message. Eventually I will have a “Contact Me” page up so if you’ve come here long after this blog has grown and you see a link to the “Contact Me” page over in the sidebar you can use it if you prefer.
